Batteries

In vigoreRevised CPR (EU) 2024/3110 generally applicable since January 2026. DPP phased per product family through 2032.

Toys
AdottatoRegulation (EU) 2025/2509 in force since 1 Jan 2026. Mandatory Digital Product Passport for every toy on the EU market.

Detergents & surfactants
AdottatoRegulation (EU) 2026/405 adopted 11 Feb 2026. DPP and digital labelling replace the 2004 rules.

The EU central DPP registry goes live, and it wires customs into imports
The Commission's central Digital Product Passport registry arrives on its 19 July 2026 deadline, governed by Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1778. It lets customs check imported goods, so importers into the EU need it on their radar.

EU ban on destroying unsold clothes and footwear now applies
From 19 July 2026, large companies are prohibited under the ESPR from destroying unsold clothes, accessories and footwear. It is a separate ecodesign obligation from the textiles Digital Product Passport, and it reaches non-EU brands that sell into the EU.

Six horizontal DPP standards are now cited in the Official Journal
Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1736 of 14 July 2026 cites six EN 18xxx Digital Product Passport standards, giving them a presumption of conformity under the ESPR. The two security standards, prEN 18239 and prEN 18246, are not yet included.
