Consumer electronics & ICT

Consumer electronics and ICT are priority groups under the ESPR Working Plan. The delegated act is expected to build on existing Ecodesign and Energy Labelling measures for smartphones, tablets, servers and consumer electronics.

    Ecodesign Regulation (EU) 2023/1670 for smartphones and tablets adopted — baseline for DPP data.

  2. 18 July 2024

    ESPR enters into force — scoping work on ICT begins.

  3. Expected 2026–2027

    Public consultation and impact assessment for the ICT delegated act.

  4. Expected 2028

    Delegated act adopted; DPP obligations phase in.

Kynnysarvot ja poikkeukset

  • Existing Ecodesign measures for smartphones, tablets, servers and data storage already require some of these fields; the DPP consolidates them.
  • Professional / enterprise equipment may carry a narrower set of fields focused on repair and end-of-life.
